Who Am I and What Qualifies Me To Tell You About Your Child's Development?

Let me tell you a little about myself: my name is Paul Mackie and for the past 15 years have
worked with children in Daycares, Preschool, Elementary and Junior High

Child development, It's as easy as telling a story

school. I have used Educational Child's Play activities with children, gifted
children, children with ADD, FAS, ADHD, Autism, brain injuries and other
disabilities; with great success.
As a professional Early Childhood Educator, Wholistic Therapist and
parent, I know what I'm talking about when it comes to your child's
development and early learning; I know what they need; and most of all, I
know when they need it.

The Reality of Child Development

Science may well be telling us what our children need before the age of seven years, but
as a parent it is difficult to balance home, work, career, relationships, and bring up a child.
You get home tired, cranky, stressed, even burned out; it is all you can do to just turn on the
TV for you and your child; and just fall asleep; I know I've been there as well.

Like me, you may be working 6 to7 days a week; when do we find quality time for our kids?
What's the answer? Well, there is one, but it requires some effort on our part.

A Plan To Help Your Child Develop

Here's a plan that could help your child increase their self-esteem,
confidence, communication skills, socialization skills and self-control; and
help you feel like you are the best parent in the world.

For 1 hour a day make sure the Television, Telephone, Computer, IPods,
Radio etc are turned off; especially when you come in from work.

Get your child to help you prepare the evening meal.

Sit down and talk about your day, and theirs as well.

Involve your child in household activities.

Read a story to your child.

Do a child development activity from Educational Child's Play.

Ok, I know this plan may take some doing, but I will not leave you out on a limb; Educational
Child's Play has activities that will not only help your child's development, but help you as well.

How Can Educational child's Play Help You As Well As Your Child?
I have been using the activities in Educational Child's Play for over 20 years and I know that
they work. Some of the benefits I have personally had are great self-esteem, I am relaxed and
calm; I can handle difficult and volatile situations, can stay focused and have good thinking
skills; to name but a few.

The activities in Educational Child's Play are easy to do, and above all, fun for you and your
child; a quality parent and child experience.

"In minutes you'll discover techniques which could turn overly active kids into orderly children
ready to learn."

Many years ago I worked for a daycare who had a 3 year old
child who was the terror of the daycare; kids ran in fear as he
chased them with one of the wooden blocks (a 12 inch long 2
by 4), just for disturbing his play.

Teachers had struggled to control this terror of a child since
the age of two years, while his parents were devastated by
the daycare calling daily to have him taken home.

I used one of the easy to do Balance Board activities every
day for 3 months with this child.

One day, someone took a train the child was playing with,
but instead of chasing after the other child he looked at me
and said, "He has taken my train." I said, "Let's go and talk to
him and see if we can get it back!" That is exactly what we
did, and the child got the train back without a fight.

This was a truly amazing experience for both me and the
child, he was starting to learn some social and communication
 skills.
Over the next few months the child settled down, started
making friends, and behaviors decreased to the point of a
 normal three year old.

As a parent, are you willing to accept a less than average day care program, or a daycare
that sends your child home crying and screaming, plus your child telling you they don’t want to
go back tomorrow?

As a daycare operator, do you want to have a great program that sends children home happy?
A program that has parents falling over themselves to tell their friends about how great their
kids are doing! This is word of mouth advertising; a parent saying that your daycare cares
enough about their child to provide such a program!

Educational Child's Play is that program, a program that cares about you and your child's
early education development.

Not only will you get rave parental reviews, but you can advertise Educational Child's Play as
part of your program; and I supply the advertising in the form of a flyer to do that.

Children With Special Needs

I have worked with children with Autism, FAS, ADD, ADHD, brain injury and other disabilities
and have found they all have one thing in common, they enjoy certain sensory activities; the
trick is to find out which ones, and present them consistently. Consistency is a key factor in
child development.
Some children may be sensitive to sound, while others may not be; some children like a dark
room and are sensitive to light, while others like it bright.

Some keys To Working With Challenged Children

arrow Never force an activity on anyone; we all have our likes and dislikes

arrow Consistency and repetition are needed until the child  "gets it", then they will move on.

arrow Be aware of what the child is saying; watch body language, facial expressions; if they
are non-verbal (cannot talk), they are still communicating.

arrow Activities should be fun; this above all else.

arrow Provide activities to feed seven senses which are taste, touch, sight, hearing, smell,
vestibular (sense of balance) and proprioception (muscle sense and awareness of space).

arrow Have empathy for the child; in other words, "put yourself in their shoes".

arrow Give lots of praise and encouragement.

arrow Provide an activity and then let the child explore on their own.

These statements are generalizations of what has worked for me. If you suspect that your
child has a disability, then seek expert advice.

One day a parent asked me to work with her child who was
having difficulty with his reading, writing, and was generally
struggling in kindergarten with his peers.

Here's what she had to say: " My child is having trouble with
the other children in Kindergarten. He writes backwards and
struggles with reading; I think he has a learning disability, and
I am at a loss to know what to do?"

I talked to the child, who was interested in soccer; he told me
he could not score any goals, so we practised some of the
techniques in Moving To Relax. After a week of practising
Moving To Relax he started scoring more goals.

After a month the child's mom told me he was doing much
better, that his reading and writing had improved and he was
doing well with his peers; he was also the best goal scorer on
 his team.

My own personal experience has shown that Moving To
Relax and the Balance Board activities can help children be
successful and make parents happy that their child is
 growing and doing well.

What Is Science Saying About Your Child's Development?

Science is saying that children need certain brain input and experiences before the age of
seven years, when approximately 80% of their neural pathways are formed (neural pathways
are what help us to think for ourselves).

Before the age of seven years is indeed the most crucial time for any child's development.
I created Educational Child's Play, to give you, your daycare, or preschool the tools to make
that brain growth a reality; and make you feel great, as a wonderful parent, and teacher of a
successful child.

80% of the brain's neural pathways are formed before the age of seven. Educational Child's
Play could provide what is needed for that early learning stage of child development.

What Is Happening When You Use Educational Child's Play?

arrow The activities in Educational Child's Play feed seven senses (yes there are more than 5).

arrow Scientists say, "Feeding the senses is what is needed to develop a child's brain."

arrow Sensory activity input is said to develop a child's neural pathways, creating a rich network
of pathways when it is needed; before the age of seven years.

arrow Some of the activities in Educational Child's Play are adapted from ancient techniques that
have been proven to calm, relax and enhance personal well being.
