Dear Parent,

It feels so good to see your child achieve milestones, absorb knowledge like a sponge and develop a true love of learning.

"Storybooks That Teach" can awaken these senses in your child, bring their brains to attention, get their brain synapses connecting at speeds so impressive even the energizer bunny would drop his drum.

It is this very hunger to learn that needs to be nurtured. You don't want to miss your window of opportunity--the years prior to age 7. Absolutely, hands-down the MOST IMPORTANT and VITAL learning and development stages of their growth.

Once it's gone, you can't get it back. Don't you want to know you did everything you could to build that foundation of success, nurture that feeling of accomplishment that will later blossom into a positive self image?  Isn't that your ultimate gift as a parent?

No video game, TV show or arcade can deliver the kind of stimulation that the pages of these books can inspire. It is so simple. So pure. So engaging yet so very affordable. (Less than the cost of a video game with lifelong benefits you can't put a price tag on.)

I'm a childhood education specialist with years of education, experience and training. But I'm also a parent. I know how it feels to want a manual to navigate your child's latest crisis. I know how it feels to invest yourself in your child, feel every accomplishment and every failure.  I want to share my experience and knowledge with you and with your children through these books.

Imagine you:
arrow Feeling like you are a great parent

arrow Knowing you did a good as, and even better job than your parents

arrow Not feeling guilty that you have "messed them up"

arrow Teaching your child how to learn; developing their potential and nurturing their creativity

arrow Feeling worthy to be the parent of such a wonderful child

arrow Getting hugged by a child who adores you

arrow Being the envy of your friends, who wonder what you are doing to have such a well
  developed child

arrow Knowing you have given your child the best start in life they could have

Imagine your child:
arrow Feeling good about themselves (self-esteem)

arrow Thinking and solving problems for themselves (thinking ability)

arrow Telling you and others how they feel and what they are thinking (communication)

arrow Sharing and playing with other children (socialization skills)

arrow Having good body balance and coordination (physical coordination)

arrow Being able to deal with and recognize their own emotions (emotional stability)

arrow Remaining calm and relaxed and able to reduce behaviors (self control)

arrow Being able to read and be academic achievers (successful for a lifetime)

Let me explain why the age of seven is considered such a crucial stage of your child's development.

Before I answer that let me tell you a little about myself.............

Storybooks That Teach-it's this easy

Hi there, my name is Paul Mackie, I live in Calgary, Canada  with my wife and children. I am a professional Early Childhood Educator and Wholistic Therapist, presently working with adults with challenges and disabilities.

Let me be blunt here.......THIS IS SERIOUS, "I know what I am talking about. I've spent many YEARS of my life dealing with kids in daycares, pre- school, Elementary and Junior High school. I know what they need, and most importantly.....I know WHEN they need it!.

"I HAVE THE CREDENTIALS and THE EXPERIENCE, but putting all that aside, as a parent I have been through the

parenting mill (so to speak), and totally understand what you are going through to raise a
child; if nothing else, please feel free to contact me (E-mail address below)

So, what is the answer to the question: why is the most CRUCIAL stage of your child's development before the age of seven.
Scientists only now have the equipment (such as brain scanners) to see what is happening in a child's brain; and they are reaching some very disturbing conclusions:

arrow reports state, that in the first 7 years of life, the brain’s neural pathways are mainly formed
and created by the stimulation of 7 senses

arrow the brain will trim away any brain cells that are not being stimulated in the early years

arrow conception to age six (particularly the first three years), set the base for competence and
coping skills that will affect learning, behavior and health throughout life

arrow during critical periods, particular parts of the brain need positive stimulation to develop
  properly

arrow the importance of problem-solving, play-based learning for early brain development is
essential for child development information from the Early Years Study and "Rethinking The Brain" Shore 1997

arrow NOTE: I have saved the most DEVASTATING and SHOCKING statement from my
research until the end of this page; I will explain my reasoning for this then.

Troubling statements, it makes you wonder, what happens if children miss it?

For me personally, this statement is definitely a cause for concern, "the brain will trim away any brain cells that are not being stimulated in the early years". What this means is your child will have fewer pathways with which to think, or.........

In a nutshell:
Non-Stimulated Brain
Stimulated Brain

image
image

few pathways to enable
thought development
a rich network of pathways
for development

Storybooks That Teach can help make sure your child does not miss those early years stages of growth and development.

The work of David Hubel, Torsten Wiesel, Rima Shore and others, support the scientific evidence that early childhood sensory experiences affect the way a brain develops, and that this has a major impact on the brain’s potential and a child's success in later adult years.

Paul Mackie has produced a no cost report called the "Early Childhood Report".
This report exposes what most governments and educators are ignoring as a solution to better educated and successful children; you get this report free with Storybooks That Teach.

"The Secret To Your Child's Future Success Revealed...."

LEFT AND RIGHT HEMISPHERES OF THE BRAIN

image

Our children need to be able to use both sides of the brain.

The book "Learning To Feed The Senses" gives you some vital clues about your child's future success. Knowing your child's learning likes and dislikes (their learning style), is an important key for a successful future in the school system; knowing what and how to develop their brains is also revealed in this amazing book.

What is this VITAL INFORMATION That Scientific Experts Are Revealing About A Child's Brain Development?

"How To Give Your Child An Unfair Advantage In Life Over Others"

Start with "A Walk in the Jungle" to get your child ready to learn, switching on the brain to accept new learning. All Storybooks That Teach explain the "HOW" and "WHY" of each activity in the story; so you are not left wondering why you are reading the story!

Next, use "Gordy Visits the Mountains", a book of fun developmental movements which
are a necessary part of a child's development, for both mind, body and success (the
balanced child).

Finally, do an activity a day from "Learning to Feed the Senses", a book packed with ideas
to stimulate the seven senses; crucial to your child's success in their adult years.

What parents are saying about these storybooks:

I just finished 'A Walk in the Jungle' with my two girls. I'm VERY impressed!

My eldest is starting kindergarten this year and she loves following guided activities. She was eager to follow along and create her own animal moves.

What I'm also happy with is that my younger daughter who just turned two actually participated. She is naturally very much of a loner. While she normally does her own thing while other kids play she joined us after the second activity and 'opted out' near the end. However, that was very impressive for her.

Thanks so much. It's a great tool for parents who want to have fun with their kids, but don't have the imagination or information to make learning fun.

You may be asking yourself, "Is there anything I can do?"

Definitely!

"8 Things You Can Do Right Now To Ensure Your Child's Success"

arrow read to your child every day

arrow read books with pictures, repetitive big words and short sentences

arrow when a child can say a word show them the written word

arrow start with naming words (nouns) label everything in your home

arrow then verbs (action words) and act them out

arrow start with alphabet recognition

arrow always use large print text as a child's visual pathways are not fully formed in the early
  years

arrow use Storybooks That Teach" to GREATLY INCREASE your child's chance of success

A report on Rethinking the Brain from the Families and Work Institute in the United States (by Rima Shore-an expert in her field), provides some descriptions of brain development and what is needed for a successful child.

Quote:
arrow how a brain develops hinges on a complex interplay between the genes you are born with
  and the experiences you have.

arrow early experiences have a decisive impact on the architecture of the brain, and on the
nature and extent of adult capacities.

arrow early interactions don't just create the context, they directly affect the way the brain is
  "wired".

arrow brain development is non-linear: there are prime times for acquiring different kinds of
  knowledge and skills.

arrow by the time children reach age three, their brains are twice as active as those of adults;
activity levels drop during adolescence. shore (1997) End quote.

What I am saying is based on my own personal experience and observations of children in my care; I know the activities in these storybooks not only help with children's development, but adults as well; yes! YOU GET THE SAME BENEFITS AS THE CHILDREN.

I personally practise the activities in these storybooks every day; which keeps me calm, relaxed and my brain sharp, ready to face any challenge the day may throw at me.

Paul Mackie's remarkable book takes children through beneficial exercises in a fun and playful way.

Children stay focused as they participate in each page of the story and have the opportunity to use their own imaginations as they follow the delightful story characters.

What a great way for children and myself to begin our day.

The most DEVASTATING and SHOCKING research statements

My reasoning for keeping these shocking statements until last, was to first let you see that there are solutions to these incredible and life changing statements.

Here's what the Early Years Report had to say:

THE BAD
(Quote:)
arrow There is disturbing evidence that children who do not receive the nutrition and
stimulation necessary for good development in the earliest months and years of life
may have great difficulty overcoming deficits later.

arrow Children who receive inadequate or disruptive stimulation will be more likely to
develop learning, behavioral or emotional problems in later stages of life (including an
increased incidence of juvenile delinquency and crime for males) (End Quote).

THE GOOD
(Quote:)
arrow There is encouraging evidence that good nutrition, nurturing and responsive
care-giving in the first years of life, linked with good early child development
programs, improve the outcomes for all children's learning, behaviour, and physical
  and mental health throughout life.

arrow Simple things like reading and telling stories to a child at 18 months; or joining a
three-year old child to play with a bucket; or helping a four-year-old throw a ball in
the playground, are powerful stimuli for brain development in the early years. They
are laying the base of brain development for future learning, behavior and health
  (End Quote).

Children can be successful, but they need caring parents and educators who can give them that chance; in the pre-school years, before the age of seven.

arrow Storybooks That Teach are the first step in preventing any of those devastating .....
statements becoming reality; for any child.

arrow Storybooks That Teach explain what to do and why you are doing it.

arrow Storybooks That Teach provide the advantage that gets your child ready to learn how
  to be successful.

Gordy Visits The Mountains" has been extremely beneficial to my daughter's development.

Being born with no binocular vision had a large impact on her gross motor development.

My daughter loves to practise all the time with the gross motor equipment in this fun story setting.

Now, six months later, her gross motor skills are right at age level and she's always excited to have the chance to practise her new-found skills.
